You are the Altar
With the increase in many of us having our awakening, so many of us have started to have morning rituals.
For many, morning rituals, is a time for us to take 5 mins to a few hours doing things that help us fill up our own cups before stepping into the crazy world we live in.
For me, mine can vary from 20 minutes to 3 hours and includes so many different modalities and movements that help me connect to myself, my body, the collective and calming my nervous system for the day. Some of my favourite modalities are:
Cacao Ceremony
Sea Swims/ Cold plunge
Meditation & Breathwork
Gratitude & Intention setting
Yoga/Dancing/ Gym workout
Pleasure Practices/ Mirror Work
& much much more
So many of us do these practices in front of our sacred spaces/altars. Especially for the feminine within us, we love the idea of having a sacred space where we can sit and practice our morning rituals, pleasure practices and do mirror work.
Setting up an altar/sacred space is a beautiful ritual that I don’t believe many of us are very aware of how significant it can be in our lives. The intention we set, the energy we bring and the objects we select for it bring so much POWER & MAGIC, that very many of us cannot explain to others who do not understand.
We treat this sacred space/altar with the utmost respect. We keep it clean, fresh flowers, change it up when the energy feels stagnant, cleansing it and nurturing it.
However, what happens when we become attached to having this altar space to make us feel better, bring us into a higher vibration and to perform our rituals?
How do you feel when you are away from your altar for more than a few days?
Do you always have to travel with aspects of your altar?
Again, if this feels aligned, that is amazing but what if I told you, you could do all of this without setting up or travelling with an altar?
The altar is a representation of our divinity, body, soul and mind. We are the altar, we can set an intention or pray without sitting in front of a sacred space.
Instead, we treat our physical body as the altar.
What we eat? How we move? How much joy we feel? How we express ourselves? We nourish ourselves. Cleanse ourselves. Give ourselves the love we reflect to this space.
Sometimes, especially at the start of our journey, we need the external & physical representation of our ritual space but I want you to know that, YOU ARE THE ALTAR!
Every aspect, every emotion felt, every step taken, every decision made, every word spoken- these are all parts of you walking through your life in an aligned, divine and magical way!
Keep shining and stay magical!!
